Here is Johnny Cash with Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers performing “Rusty Cage” (the Soundgarden song) from the album Unchained.

My mom, my sister Kathie, and I saw a kick-ass Mavericks concert at the Keswick Theater last month.

So instead of “Currently listening to,” it should read “Still listening to…In Time by The Mavericks.

While definitely a band album, there’s no doubt that Raul Malo is running the show (which isn’t a bad thing).

The Divinyls singer, Chrissy Amphlett, (of “I Touch Myself” fame), just died from cancer and complications from multiple sclerosis.

I was never much of a Divinyls fan, but I’m saddened by her passing.

Scott Miller was the leader of Game Theory and Loud Family. Game Theory was a cool band, and I listened to two of their albums incessantly when they came out.

I’m currently listening to American Recordings by Johnny Cash (1994), the first of the series of albums he recorded with producer Rick Rubin (Beastie Boys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tom Petty). These albums, recorded over a decade, would be the Man in Black’s final recordings

A documentary on the late, great Levon Helm (of the Band) debuts in April.
